Advertising Analysis,Selena Gomez

The campaign I am going to analyse is the ‘Dream out loud ’,campaign which advertiser’s Selena Gomes’s clothing K-Mart. It is an advertisement that is aimed at teenagers and others who are inspired by her and are fans of Selena Gomez. The poster/campaign includes shots of her and her friends who are outside in bright and sunny scenery  jumping around and enjoying themselves as that is what teenagers are all about nowadays.
The second campaign is an image of Selene Gomez and two other teenagers, Selena is positioned in the centre of the image, her position portrays her as very firm and strong, whilst her hands are in her pockets and which makes other teenagers feel intimidated as they may not stand around with their friends with their hands in their pockets however, the intimidation makes them want to feel cool because of the way she is standing. The two girls beside her are also standing really chilled, and relaxed, due to one of girls has her leg sticking out and whilst the other one is smiling.
The next campaign is a close up of Selena Gomez which shows her making direct mode of address, which makes us feel threatened and catches our eyes as her dark eye makeup almost rains upon us and we notice a dangerous side to her, yet it still makes us want to be just like her and endorse in whatever she endorses in.
The last image is a shot of Selena with two other teenagers, holding on to each other which shows that girls who wear this are best friends for life and will have a never ending friendship. For example, they all seem to be smiling and seem to be having a brilliant time, whilst the clothing is trendy and bright,  and this symbolises how bubbly and excited they are.
I am now going to analyse the Selene Gomez Dream Out Loud Commercial. It starts off with Selena lying down on the ground with a group of friends and smiling which shows she's enjoy herself and in a way almost being arrogant about it. She is then shown by herself with a grey hat an a bright pink top, the connotation of pink is seen as more feminine and luxurious, whilst her friends run around in the background as they flaunt her campaign line. These campaigns are for those who are females in there mid teens and watches her show ;Wizards of Waverly Place which is a popular show globally which already boost's her celebrity level. They may not have a job as it is aimed at those of young adults so would generally rely on their parents for money. These teens would shop at stores such as: River island,Topshop, new look however, these are popular adult stores but as young teens admire those who are coming out of shops with bags and bags of Topshop bags. Magazines such as : 17, teen vogue, bliss sugar etc as they include tips on hair, clothing, advice the latest fashion trends, love issues, and celebrity gossip. Women are shown as inspirations to those of a younger age in this case its Selena, and one major flaw could not only affect the admirer but the parents of these teens, as these women would be seen as irresponsible and this would lower the celebrities status. This campaign features stereotypical features as in the advert these teens are shown as happy and have no care in the world, when in reality not every teenager is like that as teenager are faced with challenges, such as : Exam pressure, peer pressure, hormonal issues and even in some cases mental and trust issues. This would relate to Aspires, those who aspire to be something and have a role model to help them along the way.
Comparing the Dream Out Loud Campaign wish consisted of her friends outside having a good time, her new Dream Out Loud Campaign only features her. This could be because she is a more grown up individual but her target audience will remain the same. I know this because from her new commercial it has a more darker presence , there are less bright colours compared to the first commercial. Furthermore, she is in a car at some point and this reflects her level of maturity however, this change does not affect her fans. She is still perceived as a positive role model, who teenagers look up to in hope of inspiration. As she grows up she may be seen advertising for other magazine which are targeted at a more older audience such as :Vogue magazine,Elle magazine, Glamour Magazine which isnt the same as her previous work which was aimed at younger adults.
Also her clothing is more sophisticated her high waist skirt indicates this. Her young fans may be forced, to change their image because of this and feel as if they have to look good in order to be successful which  could send the wrong message.
